Looking Back@the 'Joy' left behind!

You can now roam across the places which were distinctively mine. The zones where I dreamt of an utter impossibility! The streets and the buildings…The malls and the halls…The 'islands' and the tanks… They are your entire playground today; your own little oyster. I no longer exist! Not in the place and maybe neither in the hearts...your story has just began in the place where mine lasted and took shape…and did slowly vanish! Vanished maybe into utter oblivion

Someplace have a life of their own! Not by themselves but by the people who visit them. It's we who give the lifeless mortar; a sprinkling of breath! It’s we who make a 'place' memorable!

People who have been to Salt-Lake can provide a different picture of our own Kolkata; far different from the stereotypes associated with the city. The zone of elites that it has slowly become, reflects a new Kolkata-modern and Vibrant; a cosmopolitan part of an ever evolving metro! A thousand days in Kolkata and looking back I can only relate; to the people and the places. Left behind are the lanes I used to trot, the places I used to visit and the moments galore spent under a star-lit little sky.

Not utter nostalgia as yet but surely a sense of DejaVu as I hear the tales...the people strolling on the streets of sectorV. Overhearing the 'new crowd' running to INOX for the weekend celebrations! Imagining my successors getting up and down the 215A! There lies the Auto stand, drivers screaming to get in the queuing passengers in. The 'Techie population' rushing in to reach their workplace at those flexi-timings...I can hear the 'Kolkata' hustle and bustle.I can smell the air as it slowly gets festive for the 'Pujo'...the 'abahan' of the goddess! Kolkata is still the very same…the same city that I left behind.

And I lied there awaiting! The 'Aaghaz' that never was. Alas they came...they all arrived. But I was not there to welcome them. I was gone! To hide, to escape…I literally ran away! The inevitable had shown up and had snatched from me the very essentials-The joy of digging deep and waiting for the morning. The magic was gone! Now I had to vanish before the next Sun could even be seen at the horizons. I had to make way. My wait was over!

Kolkata is still alive and kicking...more in my veins as I find myself jettisoned to a far corner...far away from the memorable days spent in the 'City of Joy'. More memorable for they could have been but alas it was mere reverie. Shaken out and disposed into another land. A new story which has just began!
